Synopsis: 

Light Has Come is a Christmas musical that follows the long awaited arrival of the Messiah through the lives of Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zacharias, Anna, Simeon, and the people of Bethlehem.

The story opens in Jerusalem, where Anna and Simeon are still watching and praying for God’s promised deliverance. When an angel appears to Zacharias, the years of waiting begin to give way to remarkable news. In Nazareth, Mary must tell Joseph that she is expecting a child conceived by the Holy Spirit. Their plans for marriage suddenly become a test of trust, courage, and faith.

As Mary visits Elizabeth and Joseph wrestles with his responsibility, the musical gives these familiar figures room to speak as people facing circumstances they cannot fully understand. A census brings Mary and Joseph to a crowded Bethlehem, where an innkeeper and his wife offer the only shelter they have. Outside the town, shepherds Ephram and Bartholomew receive the angel’s announcement and hurry to see the child for themselves.

Original songs carry the story from Israel’s cry of “How long?” to the joyful declaration that the light has come. Moments of warmth and humor sit alongside Mary and Joseph’s uncertainty, the wonder of the shepherds, and the worship that gathers around the manger. The musical closes at the temple, where Anna and Simeon finally see the child for whom they have waited.

Rooted in the accounts of Jesus’ birth, Light Has Come invites audiences to see Christmas as the fulfillment of God’s promise: the Savior has come, and His light is for all nations.
